LAW I – THE FIELD A. Dimensions: LENGTH: 35-60 yards WIDTH: 25-40 yards B. Goals: 6ft x 12ft

LAW II – THE BALL Size 3

LAW III - NUMBER OF PLAYERS A. Number of players on the field at any one time: 4 B. Maximum number of players on the roster are: 6 C. Substitution: 1. Injuries 2. Between Quarters ONLY D. Playing Time: Each player shall play a minimum of 50% of the total playing time. E. Teams and games are co-ed F. No Goalie

LAW IV – PLAYER’S EQUIPMENT Conform to FIFA with the following exceptions: A. Footwear: Tennis shoues or soft-cleated soccer shoes B. Shinguards: MANDATORY

LAW V – REFEREE A. Registered Youth Referees B. All rule infractions will be briefly explained to the offending player.

LAW VI – LINESMEN Not used

LAW VII – DURATION OF THE GAME A. The game is divided into four (4) equal eight (8) minute quarters. B. There is a two (2) minute break between quarters one (1) and two (2) and between quarters three (3) and four (4). C. There is a half-time break of five (5) minutes between quarters two (2) and three (3).

LAW VIII - THE START OF PLAY Conform to FIFA with the following exception: A. Opponents must be three (3) yards from the center mark while kick-off is in progress.

LAW IX – BALL IN AND OUT OF PLAY Conforms to FIFA. Ball is in play until it entirely crosses the touchline of goal line or until the referee stops play by blowing the whistle.

LAW X – METHOD OF SCORING Conform to FIFA. Ball must cross goal line entirely while on the ground or in the air and must cross between goalposts and under the crossbar.

LAW XI – OFFSIDES There shall be no offsides. .

LAW XII – FOULS AND MISCONDUCT A. All fouls will result in an indirect free kick with the opponents three (3) yards away. B. The referee must explain all infractions to the offending player.

LAW XIII – FREE KICKS Conform to FIFA with the following exceptions. A. All free kicks are INDIRECT. B. A goal may not be scored from an indirect kick until the ball has been played or touched by a second player from either team. C. No kicks shall be taken by the attacking team within the defending team’s goal box.

LAW XIV – PENALTY KICK No penalty kicks are taken during these games.

LAW XV – THROW IN Conform to FIFA with the following exceptions: A. A throw-in restarts the game after the ball entirely crosses the touchline. B. A second throw-in is allowed if the player commits a foul on the initial attempt. The referee shall explain the proper method before allowing player to re-throw.

LAW XVI – GOAL KICK Conform to FIFA with the following exception: A. Opponents must be six (6) yards away from the ball.

LAW XVII – CORNER KICK A. Corner kick re-starts the game after the ball entirely crosses goal line (outside goal posts) and is last touched by a defender. B. Ball must be placed inside corner arc. C. Opponents must be six (6) yards away from the ball.

ADDITIONAL TRI-CITY RULES:

  • Opposing coaches and players should shake hands after each game.
  • We do not record league standings.
  • We do not record final scores.
  • Participation awards go to all players, not just to best team.
  • Coaches, non-playing players, parents and spectators should be located not less than one (1) yard from outside the touchline nor should they be closer than twenty (20) yards from the goal line. No one is allowed behind the goal line or behind the goal. A coaching box will be in place and coaches must stay within that area during the game. No coaching is permitted from outside this area.
  • No individual is allowed to run the length of the field except participants of the game.
  • Parents should not instruct players during game time.
  • No alcoholic beverages or tobacco products are allowed on or near the playing area.
